Dell Technologies Inc. (ticker: DELL) is a multinational corporation based in Round Rock, Texas offering a wide array of technology solutions, ranging from personal computers and smartphones to large-scale, complex IT infrastructures.

In 2018, Michael Dell bought back Dell’s shares and made the company private to restructure its strategies and primary business focus. The company went public again in December 2018. Despite its market cap, the company tends to oscillate financially, partially due to its enormous $48.5 billion debt load, most of which was raised to acquire its majority stake in VMWare.

Dell's 2020 results showed significant resilience in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, with revenue growing 2% to $94.2 billion despite the crisis. Q3 2021 revenue was up 3% to $23.5 billion, primarily powered by the consumer segment.

The company’s stock price has generally been on an upward trend, especially during the second half of 2020 due to the 'Work From Home' trend which created huge demand for personal computers. Dell, being one of the largest manufacturers of PCs, benefited greatly from this surge.

As an investor, it is important to consider that while the company's financial and operational resilience is worth recognition, the large debt load is a notable factor. Yet, looking at Dell’s current market position, the growth in its client and server solutions business, and the lucrative spin-off of VMWare, Dell possesses substantial potential for future growth.

It must also be noted that Dell is dominated by institutional investors which could indicate high confidence in long term growth. Always remember, investing in individual stocks always carries risks and it's recommended to research well considering your own financial goals and risk tolerance.
